Hi Stitchers -
It's another busy week at Needle Delights. I've been placing a lot of orders this new year and they are coming in. We received several autographed charts from Brittercup Designs with their trunk show and I've decided to award them to our keytag winner this month (at the end of January). I'm working on a class schedule beyond the regular monthly classes that are ongoing - if you're interested in something in particular, please let me know. It really does help to know what you want! Read on for news that counts.
We received new releases from the Victoria Sampler last week. They are Heirloom Wedding Memories and H is for Homemaker (in her alphabet series). I know of two of my customers who are stitching this series on one large cut of fabric (27 x 59 inches!) and keeping up with it – they can hardly wait for the next letter to come! For Canadian fans, Thea has also released her “O Canada” sampler and we have it in the shop. To see photos, visit http://www.victoriasampler.com/Catalog/VS_Samplers/index.asp

Just in this week are several new books. A-Z of Needlepoint is the 11th book in the highly successful A-Z Series and features over 1200 step-by-step photos with simple instructions for over 65 stitches. With spiral binding, the book will lay flat in front of you and is the next best thing to having someone physically show you how to do the different stitches. $26.95
Tink’s Marvelous Monograms from Tink Boord-Dill Needlework includes 40 different monograms in various sizes and alignments. Both Font based and Geometrical Monograms are included. She includes hints on ways to use and arrange the monograms in a variety of ways. This is a great book to have in your library for alphabet letters for Christmas stocking names and much more! $20.00
Alphabets Wild and Wonderful from Tink Boord-Dill Needlework has more than 40 alphabels including 2 email alphabets. All the alphabets can be used in cross stitch or needlepoint. This is a fun alphabet book – looking through it at the letters just made me smile! $15.00
Needled to Death by Maggie Sefton (author of Knit One, Kill Two) is a knitting mystery and includes a delicious recipe and a knitting pattern. A fun paperback to read whether you knit or not! $6.99
Punch Needle Embroidery and Wool Work from Cheryl Haynes and Sarah Haynes Knoerr is a 51 page book with lots of designs for punch needle and for wool work. There's a darling little posey flower purse made from Weeks Dye Works wool and I think I'll make one up for a class. They also show lots of ways to combine your punch needle with the wool. I saw the cover of this book at market last summer and am so happy to finally have it in the shop - it'll go fast. $16.99
Jill Oxton's Cross Stitch & Beading magazine/book is in. This Australian publication is so thick with patterns that I usually refer to it as a magazine - there are tons of color photos and lots of unusual items. The magazine is published quarterly and it's always interesting to see what is included. This current issue (#65) has a beaded Bird of Paradise handbag (evening bag style) and a whole section of beaded seahorses. I want the earrings! $12.95 per issue
HobNobb Designs - This is a company that I just discovered. I ordered just few things now and will bring home gobs more from Nashville. They are quick to stitch, cute little patterns that are embellished with really fun clay buttons that are larger than your usual button. When my order came in, I took the liberty of "personal shopping" for a few regular customers and put some aside for them and they loved them. They come packaged in a cute little plastic box with the pattern, the clay embellishment and a photo of the stitched model. There are lots of holiday patterns in addition to their regular patterns. I have a catalog in the shop (they don't have a website) if you want to see the other things that are offered besides what we have - I can take your personal orders with me to Nashville, if you'd like. Prices vary from $4.95 for the small "doodles" to $24.95 for a larger kit. Most average about $7.95. Email me if you have any questions about specific types of patterns. You can see a small sampling of their wares at http://www.picturethisplus.com/html/hob_nobb.html
The Lavender & Lace 2005 Complimentary Angel pattern is available now – stop into the shop for a copy or print one out at http://www.tiag.com/otherproducts/2005preview.html. You can see a photo of one through this link as well. She’s very pretty.
That's it for now - hope you're getting to stitch more than me these past few days!
