News that Counts!
Sent: July 7, 2006
Hi Stitchers -
I've been back from North Carolina for a few days now - trying to catch up with all the orders in the shop! I had a fabulous time at mom & dad's - they are living in a beautiful place and as much as we miss them here in Florida, I have to report that they are loving retirement and not ever bored (or boring!). Their mountain home and the views were beautiful and the weather divine - I even wore a sweater out at night! Anyway, I came home rejuvenated, refreshed and relaxed ready for the busy shop life that I lead and love!
Even though I was on vacation, I couldn't resist brainstorming with mom on ideas for Camp in the fall! I wish I could share them with you but that would ruin the surprises! Of course, that's really more fun than work! Although I haven't talked much about Camp, it's on my mind a lot - planning, plotting, and keeping secrets! You really should consider joining us October 13-15th - it's going to be a great weekend in a beautiful location. There will be lots of stitching time as well as great company, no housework or interruptions, and some fun projects (you'll even be able to take home a few completely finished things!). If you haven't signed up to come to The Needle Fair (camp!), you still can. We have just a few slots still available. Just download the flyer from the homepage of the website, fill it out, and send it in. If you've already signed up and not made your second payment, please consider this your reminder that it was due June 30th!
We're still receiving goodies in the shop on a daily basis! This week has brought new patterns, new kits from Pine Mountain, the 10th Anniversary Just Cross Stitch Book (we just have a few books left if you didn't pre-order it), the Tea Shop novels, and more. I've also finishing burning the CDs for the Town Square charts that I picked up at market - $5 ea with an order. I'd love to feature a building if you stitch one (or more!) in the shop. My stitching plate is overflowing at the moment - I took two projects with me to NC - one "in progress" (my Carriage House Samplings Alphabet Sampler) and one new (the new JBW Advent Calendar - I was able to finish stitching 6 of the little designs - only 18 more to go!). Of course the current basket is overflowing - I'm sure you understand!
Cookbook News: Since everyone seems to love cookbooks, I've decided to issue another Needle Delights cookbook. The first one (Quick to Fix & Then You Stitch) that we did years ago when we were still in Gulf Breeze completely sold out and as little as I cook, I actually use it quite frequently. Anyway, I am asking you, the stitcher, to submit recipes to me to be used in the cookbook. I'll also ask for submissions from designers. Please email them or mail them to the shop. Please be sure to include your full name and where you live. I'll look forward to getting lots of great recipes and we'll be sure to include all the great goodies that we get to eat at All Night Stitch-ins! I'm sure this cookbook will end up being as great as the first one and we'll either call this one "Quick to Fix & Then you Stitch MORE" or another title if you'd like to suggest something! My plan at this point is to have this ready in the fall so get your favorite recipes to me!
Help Wanted: I have an opening or two at the shop for part-time help. If you're interested, please call me or stop by and see me. I especially need someone who is willing to work some Saturdays...
Potluck - I've discovered a few errors in my charts so if you ordered or purchased this pattern, please let me know so I can replace your pages.
I'm off for the house to see the kitties (they missed me while I was gone!) and stitch - come in to the shop soon to see all the new stuff! We've changed the display up front to "Christmas in July" - I won't torture you by telling you how quick Christmas is coming! It's definitely time to start thinking about those special holiday gifts though!
I hope there's a needle involved in your weekend - with thread in it!
