Hi Stitchers -
Another week has passed by and summer seems to be upon us. It has really warmed up here in Pensacola the last week or two. I took a short break this week and went to Atlanta to see a Braves game Wednesday with my dad. I stopped on the way home to spend a night at my brother's to see my baby neice Lindsey and came home this morning. Needless to say, not much stitching happened in my life this week but I did have a great time. I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend and catching up on my sleep!
Even though we just had a Stitch-In last Saturday, it's time to sign up for another! June has a Friday the 13th on the calendar so we will have our "Friday the 13th Summer Stitch-In" from 5-10 pm on June 13th. This time we'll be doing BBQ. Needle Delights will provide the meats and sauces and when you sign up, you can bring something if you like (coleslaw, pickles, chips, macaroni salad, potato salad, your "special" sauce, etc). I think this will book up fast so please sign up ASAP. We max out at 30 and are coming close every time now. Your $5.00 payment is your reservation.
I released "Peach Melba" this week - patterns and kits are in the shop. I know I talked about it last week - we've had a lot of sign ups for class so I've added a class on Tuesday, May 27th and June 24th in the morning. Please come in and sign up and choose colors no later than May 17th so I can order all the threads.
Lots of new arrivals this week - all are added to the new page. Mill Hill has licensed Jim Shore designs and has a new line of Bead & Button kits "Jim Shore Quilted Cats Series". There's also a whole line of ceramic buttons that are very pretty and three new patterns that I'll be ordering. I've got pictures in the shop if you're interested or you can probably see them at www.millhill.com (please order from us though!).
If you've looked at the Caron Collection threads in the shop lately, you'll know we've had them in bags on the floor as a result of the expansion. I'm so happy to report to you that they are all hanging on the wall again - we moved the needlepoint yarn to the back "needlepoint" room and now you see the beautiful overdyed threads as you walk in. It's so much easier to locate everything now! We're still moving things around and getting everything where we want it and really enjoying the extra space. I hope you're enjoying your shopping experience as well.
Hope to see you in the shop soon - keep the needle moving!
