Hi Stitchers -

I'm late with my update today - lots of people in the shop kept us hopping! I've just finished posting the new things that have come in. We've got some fun, inexpensive scissors in several styles (they're on the new page under "Scissors" - scroll down the alphabetical title listings). There are two darling little Mary Engelbreit tins - the same size as Altoid tins, these make great little needle boxes if you glue a piece of magnet inside.

Heart in Hand has a great new series "Monthly Markings". The verse on it reads "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." The first four months are here and the border chart is in a leaflet with a color photo of what it will all look like together. I'm tempted to do it over one thread but we'll see what happens when fabric gets cut!

In case you don't know or are wondering, Framer Liz can frame anything, not just needlework. With graduations looming, think about bringing those diplomas in to be framed. They look great matted with the graduate's school colors and are very personal. She can do photos and collages as well.

I found the recipe for the awesome Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle we had at the Stitch-In a couple of weeks ago. Here it is:

Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle

2 pkg cream cheese (8 oz ea)
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
1.5 tsp vanilla extract, divided
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 cup whipping cream
4 tblsp sugar, divided
1 angel food cake, torn into bite size pieces
2 quarts fresh strawberries, thinly sliced

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until fluffy; add sour cream, 1/2 tsp vanilla and almond extract. Set aside. In a small bowl, whip the cream, remaining vanilla and 1 tablespoon sugar. Fold into the cream cheese mixture. Gently stir in cake pieces; set aside. Combine strawberries and remaining sugar. Layer in a large glass bowl, starting with 1/4 of the strawberries, then adding 1/3 of the cake mixture. Continue layering; finish with strawberries. Cover with plastic wrap; chill well.
Yield: 24 servings
