Hi Stitchers -
Just think, next Friday will be Christmas! I'm looking forward to having Christmas at my house this year and have so enjoyed the holidays this year. There are just three more shopping days at Needle Delights. We will be open on Saturday, Dec 26th this year - the calendar this year and my lack of travel allows us to be here a little more than usual. Be sure to see our holiday hours at the end of this email.
We continue to have people signing up to join our Stitch-A-Long for next year. There's going to be a whole lot of stitching going on in 2010! I've heard that whatever you do on New Year's Day, you'll do all year long. Since we'll be stitching at the shop on Friday, Jan 1st, I sure hope this is true! I've never heard it before though... If you’re still considering registering yourself, don’t hesitate a moment further – just send us an email to request the registration form.
With the terrific response we’re getting, we’ve decided to host a monthly SAL Stitch-In on the first Friday of every month from 9am to noon in the shop. It’ll be a fun morning of stitching and comparing projects with other people in the SAL group. If you’re too far away to come to the local SAL, gather a friend or too where you live and have your own monthly SAL group. We're worldwide now - there's a participating group in Australia as well! Please let me know if you're forming a group too!
Fabric Trunk Show
We have two large boxes of Zweigart fabric in lots of different counts (all the way up to 40) in a variety of colors. We're just starting to unpack it so I'm not sure exactly what we have. We'll have it through the month of January but I just wanted to give you a heads up about it. You may want to go through your patterns to see what you might want to purchase fabric for. More info to come...once it's all unpacked & sorted. I've already seen some 40ct Vanilla swirl that is going into my personal stash!
I've decided to teach a Holiday Series of classes next year and Two Gingerbread Cottages will be the first. Although I'm calling it a holiday series, you do not have to sign up for the series - each class will be offered separately. There will be a variety of techniques and holidays but each class will be a small design that can be completed quickly in plenty of time for the featured "holiday". Although I love stitching for holidays and having stitchery in my decor, I don't enjoy stitching under deadlines or pressure. Since Christmas is December 25th in 2010 (you're not surprised about this, are you?!), stitching the Gingerbread Cottages in January and February is perfect timing for having something done on time for next year. The class will be a one session class and is offered on Thursday, Jan 21st or Sat, Jan 23rd from 9:30-11:30am. $10 plus supplies. The design size is 4x8 on 18ct canvas and is a perfect piece for those who've never done counted needlepoint. Please sign up by Jan 9th. You can see the framed piece in the Framing Gallery. Click here to get to the Gallery and then scroll down to see Two Gingerbread Cottages.
Click here to see more of Tonia's wonderful work - she's outdone herself again and made an octagon shaped frame. She's all caught up so you can bring in framing for her to do in the New Year. She'll be off the week between Christmas & New Year's and will come back expecting that I've taken in some work for her!
New This Week
Mirabilia just released a new chart called "Sabrina" - I posted a photo of her in the "ComingSoon" - let me know if you'd like to pre-order. She's very pretty - she got big oohs & aahs to the people who saw the photo. You can also see more new items in the Merchant Mall under "New this Week". I won't be ordering charts until the end of the year but feel free to place your orders with me anytime.
We did get a new kit from Shepherd's Bush called "Seek and Ye Shall Find" - it's a small kit on 10ct fabric and priced at $14.95 would be a great stocking stuffer.
