Hi Stitchers –
I think today is the last day I’ll write or say HAPPY NEW YEAR this year! It started and continues to be cold – I’m beginning to feel like I’ve been transported to the north. I hope you’ve been taking advantage of this excellent stitching weather. I’ve been working on a new design and really enjoying it in the evenings.
Things are slowly returning to “normal”. The website is updated with this week’s new arrivals – check them out at NewThisWeek. The last two months of Blackbird’s stocking patterns arrived (I’m happy to not be the only one running behind!), the 2nd ornament of the Little House series came in, the new Mirabilia “Sabrina” pattern is here, and more.
I’ve added some older models to the “Models For Sale” Gallery – to order these, just send me an email – they aren’t in the E-Store. Prices are priced low to sell – I’m in a “Spring Cleaning” mood even though it’s the dead of winter so I’m cleaning and sorting. Watch for more specials in the next month or so… Click ModelsForSale to see what deals there are!
Retreat News – The dates are set for 2010 and the people who have attended in the past have the month of January to pre-register for a guaranteed spot. Registration will open to everyone on February 1st. If you’ve never been before, check out the photos from last year at 2009RetreatPhotos. If you’re interested, send me an email and I’ll send you a registration form.
The Framing Gallery is updated with just a couple of things since we just got shipments of supplies in yesterday and today. Several people brought things in that had been finished for a while but put away in a drawer. It seemed coincidental that both ladies said they were going to pull out one thing a month and have it framed, kind of like a “Bucket List” of projects to get completely done. One of them was a mate to something that was stitched and framed (by Framer John in Gulf Breeze) in 1994. Amazingly enough, we have the same frame and were able to match the top mat – I look forward to showing these to you. I’ve changed the name of the Framing Gallery to the “Framing & Finishing Gallery” in order to show the many different methods of finishing needleart. Although framing is a popular and great way to preserve your stitching, there are lots of different things that can be done with it. I always remember hearing my mom talk about this being one of the reasons that she enjoyed cross stitch so much when she first learned to stitch on gingham fabric (way back in the day, as my nephew would say)! This was real gingham and not the cool linen gingham fabric we have today. Anyway, I digress…here is the link to the new Gallery -
Have a great weekend – stay warm! Come see us!
