Friday Update

Sent: January 29, 2010

Hi Stitchers –

Another Friday is here and we’re expecting colder weather again this weekend. It’ll be perfect for staying indoors and stitching or come join us at Needle Delights for Saturday shopping! There’s lots of new stuff in the shop and Tonia has been busy changing out all the displays. The shop is showing it’s “loving mood” for Valentines Day with hearts and love all around.

We’re starting to get reports, updates, notices, and teasing about what we’ll be seeing in Nashville at the Needlework Market Feb 20-21st. If you see something you’d like to reserve, please let us know. It really helps our buying “efficiency” and with five floors of exhibitors, it’s pretty hectic getting around to everyone. On top of buying this year, I’ve also shared with you that I’ll be selling too and exhibiting my “Needle Delights Originals” charts. I’m excited but it adds a whole new element to the already crazy weekend. Luckily for me, my mom is coming along to help and we’re looking forward to it. Here’s a sneak peek of one of my new releases for Nashville – it’s called Rainforest Crunch and uses 13 different Watercolours, including one of the new colors. (Yes, you may pre-order now...pattern is $13 or complete kit will be $74.95 (or $69.95 if you pre-order by Feb 14th)

Speaking of new colors, Caron Collection has added 19 new hand dyed variegated colors of Watercolours. Choose from the sun streaked colors of "Sunrise Tequila", or the golden hues of "Daffodil". And the pale shades of "Wasabi" or "Mint" have to be seen to be appreciated. In fact, they’re much better in person than on the computer screen. My designer brain is very stimulated – you’ll definitely be seeing some designs inspired by these new colors.
Let us know if you’d like to reserve a set or individual colors. They are on order - $3.50 ea or $60 for a complete set.

I’ve also been feeling overstimulated by all the new colors of canvas I have to work with. It adds a whole new element to the design process and I’m just starting to play with it – if I only had more time… here's the start of a piece I'm working on the "Tenacious Teal" - it's not quite done...

Regular Links to the New and the Framing Gallery - there's a lot to see this week!

I took my computer class this week and set up our new "Stitcher's Chat Board" - our first topic, of course, is the current Stitch-A-Long but the Boards are really a forum for all of our customers to chat and let us know what is on your minds - please tell everyone you know who may be interested to help get us going. You have to be a member of our website community to post (but not to read them!) so set yourself up (if you're not already) and let the chatting begin. I'm sure there will be questions - I already have some for my webmaster, especially about posting photos so email me if you're having any issues. There may be some really computer savvy stitcher out there who will be willing to help too. Tonia & I have already posted about our projects!

To register for our website and post messages to the “Stitcher’s Chat” board, click LOGIN

To get to the new Stitcher’s Chat Message Boards, click Stitcher'sChat (you can get to it anytime because it's on the Menu on the website all the time).

Have a great weekend and cross some x's!
