Hi Stitchers -
It seems like I just wrote this email but the calendar says it has been a whole week! Time flies when you're having fun and I've definitely been having a good time! Attending market with my mom last weekend was really fun - we finished the design we're doing together. It was wonderful to spend time in the thread company's booths where we had access to EVERYTHING to help us make our final decisions! I made some new friends at market and met some other shopowners who will be hosting Needle Delights Originals trunk shows.
This market was mostly needlepoint and knitting and not much cross stitch so I don't have a whole lot to report for the shop. I did find some fun things for our Retreat later this year and for the Open House (quickly approaching in August). I also ordered some new needlepoint canvases - mostly Christmas stockings and ornaments, new Stitch N Zip needlepoint kits, a great book from Mill Hill/Wichelt celebrating/commemorating their 40th Anniversary in the needlework business, more Stitch books from June McKnight, a new line of thread from Valdani that I'm going to use in a design (if I like it!), and a few other things. What I can't wait to get my hands on are the purses and other leather items I ordered from Stirling. I'd heard about these but this was the first I'd seen them in person and I loved them - the colors are fabulous. I think some of my designs will look great in them! You can check out their products Here. Their items are Self-Finishing so they're great for those of us who don't like to finish!
We do have a lot of new stuff in the shop this week - the Lizzie Kate auto arrived today and the 5th Anniversaries of the Heart pattern from Blackbird along with the final Loose Feathers pattern came in yesterday. Click WhatsNew to see them plus a lot more.
It's time to start the signups for the Summer Stitch-In. It will be Saturday, July 17th from 4-midnight and we'll be doing "Summer Salads". $5.00 reserves your spot.
I am really excited to announce I am making a Splash in the next issue of Needlepoint Now (mailing in early July). I will have a pattern (Berry Splash) in the July/August issue and it is stitched on Tenacious Teal canvas. I ordered some extra magazines and will take reservations if you know you want one but aren't a subscriber. I'll also be making up kits. Being in this premier needlepoint magazine was a long term goal for me when I started designing and I can't wait to see it in print.
To all the dads, Happy Father's Day this weekend!
Many happy stitches!
