Hi Stitchers –
Happy New Year! First, welcome to all the new subscribers from the ANG list – thank you for your patronage. As a result of all the activity of the last few weeks, I posted some new info on the website about my designs especially for you! See NeedleDelightsOriginals
The new year is well under way and it’s wonderful so far. I hope you all have started your Stitch-A-Long project for 2011, made your UFO list for 2011, are working on your UFOs, or at the very least put a needle to thread this past week. Some of you overachievers have done everything I listed and some of you alas, have done none.
I personally decided not to do a Stitch-A-Long as it’s not conducive to my work deadlines. I started my UFO list and now the list itself has become a UFO! I promise to get back to it but you can still see it at UFOArticle. I’m so glad I could be helpful in making a lot of you feel soooo much better about your own UFOs. Thank you for all your emails! To those of you without UFOs, all I can say is I don’t know whether to envy or pity you – I’m still on the fence!
Our first Thursday Stitch-In of the year was lots of fun – we had some wonderful Show & Tell of completed Stitch-A-Long projects from last year and lots of UFO showings and great stories abounded. Even people who thought they didn’t have any UFOs showed up with some! I took a lot of pictures and will show you when I have time to download them.
We have a lot of new items at the shop – see it all at NewThisWeek. There are also photos of Lizzie Kate’s new DOUBLE FLIP series and a new kit ABCs of Parenting being released later this month – see them at ComingSoon and reserve yours now. We have the supply list and border already – email me if you want me to send you the supply list. We will also be happy to email you the border chart when you sign up to get the series.
We have new kits from Mill Hill for Spring – time marches on…there are two great Mask designs and I already have someone stitching them for the shop; the vanilla & chocolate cupcakes are cute and would look great framed together. There’s a flower shoppe to add to your villages and a beautiful hummingbird. We also have the small Spring Bouquet kits and they include a beautiful dragonfly and a swallowtail butterfly. These kits have a magnet included so you can display your work on a frig as well as making a pin or an ornament.
Shepherd’s Bush has three new Christmas kits – do them now and they’ll be ready for this year! I love the Merry Merry Be Pin Cushion and its finishing ribbon.
Drawn Thread has a new series – Pocket Calendar Covers for each month. These look quick and fun to stitch. A larger piece, “Alphabets” includes lots of stitches and letters and would probably be as satisfying to stitch as “Random Thoughts” which was one of my favorite things to ever stitch – the process was just sheer stitching nirvana and one of the few pieces I was ever sorry to finish because I just enjoyed stitching it so much.
There’s more and I’ll let you just peruse the website.
I'm off to Callaway School of Needlework tomorrow for a four day design class with a national teacher and am so excited! I leave the shop in the capable hands of Tonia and Cece and will return myself next Saturday. I'll be checking emails sporadically next week but will be in the shop all day today.
Keep sending in those UFO lists and keep the needle moving!
