Hi Stitchers -
TGIF! We're still having glorious spring weather but we could really use some rain here in Northwest Florida - our grass & trees are thirsty!
We've not received any new titles this week but have some on the way. The next Ornament of the Month from Little House has been released (and another new title) as well as some other new stuff from Country Cottage, Imaginating, Cherished Stitches, and more. I've also ordered new titles from Victoria Sampler and quick to stitch kits from Pine Mountain Designs.
I got news of new fabric colors from Zweigart as well as some 18ct overdyed canvas (each piece has a variety of colors, not just "shading"). There's also a new 20ct Aida Cloth - if you like "tiny" but can't see to stitch "over two threads" on linen, this might be just the ticket. Let me know if you're interested. If I hear from enough people I'll order some. In case you don't know, most of the fabric (other than the Overdyed) we carry comes from Zweigart - it's the maker of the best quality Aida Cloth on the market as well as the most popular linens, 28ct Cashel, 32 ct Belfast, and 36 ct Edinborough. Some of the overdyes we have use Zweigart as the base but not all of them.
Want to have some fun this summer stitching a "Surprise"?? This week I'm excited to announce a Mystery Sampler Club from Brenda Gervais of Country Stitches/With Thy Needle & Thread. Her designs have been dynamite over the years, and continue to grow in popularity! This top designer has come up with a unique club! If you’re not familiar with her, check out her patterns at http://www.nordencrafts.com/C-511/Country-Stitches.aspx. We can actually order anything you’d like from this website – Norden Crafts is one of our main distributors and we order from them weekly!
There will be 3 patterns in this series - the 1st is on the way to us and the remaining two will follow on June 10th and July 10th. This original design's stitch count is 173w x 190h and stitched on 35ct Weeks Dye Works Linen. Of course, you could stitch it on any count fabric you would like. The first pattern is $7.00.
Brenda is using a very neutral linen for this project, and the piece is stitched using Weeks Dye Works floss. There are 18 skeins of floss used for this project - with one of the colors using 3 skeins (if stitched on 35ct or 40ct), and 4 skeins if being stitched on 30ct. A WDW Floss Kit is $42.75. Price of fabric depends on the count & type you use - email me if you need a price for your specific wish.
If you’re up for a little “Surprise Stitching” this summer, let us know and we’ll call you when the first pattern arrives. If you’d like the fabric and all the threads, we’ll be happy to kit it up for you.
Here’s a bit of a sneek peak for you…looks pretty so far! I may just have to stitch this up myself!
Speaking of Mystery Stitching, I've had a lot of requests & questions about a Needle Delights Originals canvas Mystery. All I can tell you at this point is I'm working on it and will make an announcement with details later this summer. The class/stitch-a-long will start in September or October. You can always find out what I'm working on design wise at my fairly new Blog - www.needledelightsoriginals.blogspot.com - I'll be posting this weekend about my "Circles"...it's coming along...
Hope you have a great stitchy weekend!
