Needle Delights Originals Newsletter
Sent: February 16, 2013
Welcome to the first newsletter from Needle Delights Originals!
I'm very happy to be spending 95% of my working time on my design business and only 5% on processing Close-out orders for merchandise still listed on the website under the Close-Out Sales.
I am excited to announce all of the new patterns I will be releasing at the Nashville show are complete and printed! I've never been ready so early and it feels great! I did stitch the last design in just two weeks - lots of pleasureable hours stitching was a lot more fun than writing the instructions! I'm now working on something else but am not spending much time stitching these days! Having the patterns done is just one thing on the long To Do list to be ready to leave for market!
You can see all of the new patterns HERE
. If you have a LNS, ask them to pick up patterns for you at the show. If you don't have a LNS, feel free to contact me for patterns or kits. I'm now taking pre-orders from everyone.
I have developed my first teaching piece (this means it is only offered as a class) called Sherwood Garden. In addition to the colorway shown, I developed four additional colorways. I will be teaching it at Nashville Needleworks in Brentwood, TN February 26-27th, the week before the tradeshow. I'm looking forward to teaching in somebody else's shop (and shopping!!). I'll also be taking a trunk show so they'll have models in the shop that same week, including the new releases!
I will also be teaching this class online through the Shining Needle Society. If you're not familiar with the Shining Needle Society or want to join, send an email to Kate Gaunt (the leader) at firstname.lastname@example.org
It's easy to sign up, it's free and the only emails you get are announcements about classes. Membership offers you access to classes from dozens of teachers and you only pay if you sign up for a class. I'm honored to be the newest addition to the faculty and registration for Sherwood Garden runs through March 8th. So far 20 states and 2 countries are represented by registration! I'm excited to see how many different states I'll end up with when registration closes! You can see details and photos of the alternate colorways in the Shining Needle Class anouncement at
I'll be traveling to North Carolina for a fun quilting retreat in the mountains! Another friend is coming from the north and we're excited about going to the greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop. This will a "Creative Expedition" for me as my creative outlet/hobby of quilting is a great source of inspiration for my needlepoint designing. My mom (Jeanette Rees) and I are at work on our 2nd collaboration so we'll also be taking a little of our quitling time to compare notes and progress!
April - May - Weekly online class with Shining Needle Society (Join us!)
June - South Central EGA Seminar in Sugar Land, TX (Hope to see some of you there!)
August - TNNA Fall Show (Autumn Logs will be released at this show!)
Hope you're stitching - it's the best relief from the winter blahs!
