Happy Summer - it's officially the first day although we've been feelling the heat already!
In case you've not been keeping up with me in Blogland
or on Facebook, I've recently released two new patterns. I've added them to the website and they are now available.
First up is Calypso Squares
- this bright colorful design of squares in squares was really fun to stitch. I used lots of bright Watercolours and 5 colors of the Keinik holographic braids (015L, 026L, 027L, 028L, and 029L) to make all the colors really pop!
Another color has been added to the Color Delights series...I attempted Olive
early on but ended up with Camouflage. I've wanted to get back to Olive for a long time and here it is!
I'll be teaching several classes at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, California this fall - you can get details here.
Over a weekend, I'll be doing a lecture and two classes. The lecture is about COLOR - one of my favorite subjects! There are two "project" classes - first a small piece called Tangelo and second, a larger piece called Mint Julep. Here are photos of the finished pieces. Alternate colorways will also be offered . I'm looking forward to a trip up to The Needle Bug in Montgomery, AL next week to choose threads for alternate colorways of Mint Julep.
Tangelo and Mint Julep are Teaching Pieces and will not be released for at least two years. If you are a shop or guild interested in scheduling a class with me, click on the Contact Me on the website menu. I'll be developing a few more teaching pieces this summer.
Here's a photo of our two pieces - we bring a lot of different colorways for people to choose from!
I've started working on my Autumn Logs and posted an update on my blog earlier today...
Have a great stitchy summer!
