News and New Patterns
Sent: September 3, 2005
Some of you are probably staying close to home this long holiday weekend with the gas situation being the way it is. I hope that you are able to enjoy some stitching time - I'm looking forward to a DVD and some stitching myself tonight! Before I go home, I just wanted to let you know about some new patterns we have in the shop. You can also view all the new patterns at the "New Book Listing" at www.hoffmandis.com. Let me know if you'd like anything sent to you or if you'd like me to order or hold anything for you.
Before I start listing the new patterns, don't forget about our Needlepoint trunk show of Petei ornaments. I'm looking forward to writing stitch guides for these and doing a class with you. The classes are all on the calendar. Think about hooking up with a friend and coming in and trying something new! Also, next Tuesday, the 6th, is our regular stitching night from 5:30 to 8:30 - just bring any project and come join us!
Have a great weekend!
Here are just a few of the highlights of new patterns -
Shepherd's Bush has a new stocking "Reed" and it has a shepherd on it. Very nice. Charm packages will also be available.
Mirabilia has a new mermaid (actually two of them!) "Mermaids of the Deep Blue" $12.00
Bent Creek - two stockings "Santa Train" and "My Favorite Things". They are both done on 18 ct linen over two threads so should stitch up quickly. Also new is "Town Hall" - the last in the Snapperville series.
Blue Ribbon Designs has "Christmas Wishes" a set of four Christmas ornaments stitched like small samplers. My favorite says' "may you find peace"
La-D-Da has "Good Cheer" - a cute heart with viny ribbons around it and a verse Be of Good Cheer - something we all could use about now!
Fanci That has "Winnie the Witch" - she is just adorable and I love the way they've finished it off with wool.
Val's Stuff "Hey, Jack-0-Lantern" is a couple of cute pumpkins with a verse Hey Jack-o-lantern, my good friend, I wish Halloween would never end!"
Indigo Rose "My Daughter" is a lovely sampler $8.50
Lavenderr Wings "Ezmiralda's Brew" is a hilarious looking witch stirring her brew in a witch's pot. She's done on bright orange fabric and is just funny
Dimples "Blue Spanish Iris" and "Purple Iris" are beautiful botanical looking irises complete with the bulb $9 ea
Waxing Moon Designs "Autumn Minis" are a cute trio of quick to stitch designs for fall in soft colors.
"Hocus Pocus" is a cute piece for Halloween with Hocus Pocus spelled out with halloween motifs interwoven with the letters
Teresa Wentzler's "Tropical Dream" is a pretty band sampler with some drawn thread and a sunset scene - I think I could actually tackle this Teresa Wentzler - it's not as involved as most of her pieces
Raise the Roof - "Nautical Fence" is the third in their fence series and has a mermaid, lighthouse, and a sailor. The buttons are the perfect finishing touch. "Sweet Tooth" is a darling jack o lantern with one tooth left from all the candy buttons in his mouth!
Milady's Needle "Strawberries Stitching Basket" is a beautiful piece. You stitch the sampler and then make it into a "basket" to hold your stitching accessories (needle book, scissor fob, and ruler holder that are stitched separately). If you don't want to make it into the basket, you can frame it - they show it both ways.
