Recipes from the All Night Stitch

Hi Stitchers -

Just wanted to share one of the highlights of the All Night Stitch. As you know it is always potluck, which brings out the best recipes from those stitchers who are also great cooks! Unlike me, that is true of many of you. Anyway, here are the recipes for the Baked Onion Dip (possibly the best thing I have ever tasted on a cracker!) and Basil Tomato Tart (kind of like quiche but no eggs!). Enjoy - we did!

BAKED ONION DIP (Emily Burton)

2 8 oz pkg cream cheese
3/4 cup Helmans Mayo
1/2 cup Grated Parmesan (not fresh - buy the green can)
1 sm onion

Chop onion fine and microwave 2 to 4 minutes. Mix all with mayo. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 35 to 45 minutes.


1 pie crust
5-6 large basil leaves, chopped
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
1 large tomato
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup mayo
4 cloves garlic, chopped

Bake pie crust according to package (or own recipe) directions. Remove from oven. Spring with 1/2 cup mozzarella. Cool. Cut tomato into thin wedges and drain on paper towel for a few minutes. Arrange wedges on top of melted cheese. Combine remaining mozzarella, mayo, basil, garlic, parmesan, and pepper. Spread evenly over top of tomatoes. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes.
