Framing & Finishing Gallery 2010
The photos shown here are of customers' works that have recently been framed. If you see something you like and want to order a pattern or kit, just let us know. You can also request that your own pieces be framed like the ones shown here - we keep files on everything we use.
Serenity Prayer - stitched by Lynn Harrell; Designer Erica Michaels - this is one of her patterns designed for 40ct silk gauze but Lynn stitched it on linen and it is beautiful
Quiltmaker - stitched by Betty Park; designer Lavender & lace
Stitched by Nancy Ross; Designer Victoria Sampler
Live Simply - stitched by Jennifer Staplin; Designer Lizzie Kate
this was the perfect somewhat distressed but elegant frame for this cross stitch. It makes me want to stitch it!
This is a piece that Lynn Harrell had framed in honor of our good friend Debbie Snipes. She passed away in October after a battle with cancer. She was the stitcher/customer/friend who originally started our "Friends Who Count" stitching group and the "All Night Stitch-ins" when the shop was over in Gulf Breeze. We spent many an hour stitching together. When I went to her memorial, her family had several pieces of her works on display which showed how much they knew her stitching meant to her - it took me right back to the times we'd spent together. This piece was in Debbie's "finished but not framed" stack and Lynn thought it was time for it to be framed. Let this be a message to all stitchers - be sure you leave your needlework to someone who will honor & treasure it!
This is a painting done on a tile by hand, literally - the man used his fingers and fingernails to do it - it was given as a gift to Debbie Douma who had it framed.
Galaxy - stitched by Betty Park in the Mystery Class last year; designed by Kathy (Needle Delights)
Halloween Fairy - Stitched by Cathleen Frey from a Mirabilia kit
Rainbow Bridge - stitched by Nancy Reese; stitched on an overdyed jobelan, it turned out really nice. Designed by Sue Hillis (I think!)
A print of a Charley Harper - it turned out really sharp.
A shadowbox style piece to show off the tassels, diploma and photo. A great way to preserve memories.
A watercolor from the Art Festival; this frame really set off the artwork.
Winter Wonderland - Stitched by Gisela Vogentanz; this is a Mill Hill Bead & Button kit stitched on perforated paper. The "sparkle" doesn't show up in the photograph but it is really pretty.
This piece was stitched by Betty Sweet and made into a large pincushion (it's stuffed firmly) and the pincushion is shown in the photo below. She brought it into the shop to show and I thought it was fabulous. The pattern was one of last year's Loose Feathers patterns from Blackbird Designs and stitched on the overdyed gingham fabric. These two photos are another example of how difficult it is to show the true color of fabrics & threads (unless you're shooting photography in a professional studio).
