Mighty Bright Stitching Light

I Saw the Light!

Mighty Bright XtraFlex2

Mighty Bright XtraFlex2
At the retreat this weekend, I personally discovered the joy of the Mighty Bright Stitching Light. I had a moment to stitch and to my dismay discovered that I was not able to see my canvas very well. At home I stitch with an Ott light over my shoulder and I had not brought it with me since I'm usually okay with flourescent lighting when I work on canvas. Anyway, I went into the Retreat Boutique and got one of the new clip on lights that we carry. This Might Bright XtraFlex2 is a newer version of a bulkier Mighty Bright that we've had in the past. Not having ever used one myself, I wasn't sure that it would work for me but I was willing to give it a go, especially at only $17.95. I had thought ahead to bring batteries for guests who bought the light so I was prepared!

To my amazement, it solved my issue and I will never leave home again without it! It actually has two little bulbs so it can be used as a single or double beam (I always used the double!). The clip has a large opening so it went around my stretcher bars. It will also sit flat on a table. I even clipped it to the neckline of my t-shirt to see if I'd be able to use it when I'm stitching on linen with no frame. It probably looked funny but I was able to aim the light directly on my stitching area because the arm of the light is bendable and flexible and will stay in the position you put it in. As you can tell, I loved my new light. I even took it back to my room to use to read.

In reading the packaging that comes with the light, the bulbs never have to be replaced, the LumaLenz spreads light evenly, and it has a long battery life - up to 40 hours. There is also an AC Adapter available - we sold out at the Retreat but I'll be ordering more (I need one!!). They are $10.95.

The lights come in a lot of colors - lime green, black, silver, purple, pink, and blue. There's even a light with a magnifier on a separate flex arm for $26.95. They are available in the following colors: silver, purple, or teal.
